You might have noticed we have an “About” section now that’ll be filled in as we go along introducing the various characters. We always planned to have one, but truth be told, I knew what I wanted to write when I started, and was thirty episodes in before it struck me what I was actually trying to say. Suddenly, the elevator pitch for the series crystallized, as did my subtext. So:

Get Stuffed follows the cast and crew of a failing children’s television show as it attempts to redefine itself… with horrible results. Our heroine is Valdara, or Val, a former videogame icon brought aboard to boost ratings, but who is in the process of rediscovering herself after her videogame career tanks.

The bottom line, however, is that it’s all about jumping the shark. Naturally, comics evolve and we don’t plan on keeping the series just about that, but it’s a really good start. And here’s why. Experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want, that’s what they say. Don’t ask who they are; it’s a conspiracy of people who discovered the really interesting conspiracies were already taken. As sayings go, though, it’s pretty apt and we’ve all been there, going after our dreams like a bunch of drunks trying to play a game of whack-a-mole. And no, that’s not a euphemism, or it’s not the euphemism your dirty minds were looking for.

While my life’s been good overall, the last five years has been a real eye-opener watching my dreams jump the shark and gaining a butt-load of experience from it. It also brought me here, though, with an elevator pitch and something to say and a questionable sense of humour.
